The journey began in Memphis, TN. It was there that God birthed the dream that would become Freedom Church.
In January 2007, Pastor J.R. Lee began leading visionary meetings at his home in TN and within 5 months, twelve people had moved 450 miles to Acworth GA to launch Freedom Church. In September 2007, launch team meetings began in Acworth with 35 people.
God used that group of people to begin influencing this community as well as defining a culture of generosity as 45 people gave $20,500 on December 23rd to see the vision of Freedom Church become a reality. On January 27, 2008, Freedom Church launched at North Metro Technical College. Within nine weeks, Freedom moved to two worship experiences at 9:30 and 11:00. Before our 1st anniversary, we had outgrown the facility at North Metro Tech and moved to our new facility at Barber Middle School.
Our story is just beginning! God’s favor is evident, people are moving forward in their journey, and lives are being changed!
